Inside the Western Desert, near the Libyan border and 7 hours by car from Alexandria you'll reach Siwa, an exotic miracle in the sand realm. There's about 300 springs bringing it to life, adorned with more than 300,000 palm trees attracting a fabulous rare bird population. Moreover, the olive trees portray a biblical setting. People speak Berber tongue, not Arabic, and women are confined in black braids.
